Norfolkline

The Norfolk Line is a shipping company that offers passenger ferry transportation and logistical transports, and one of the largest ferry operators in Britain.

Norfolk Line was sold to the Danish DFDS group also on 18 December 2009 from the previous owner AP Møller Mærsk -. The sale was approved on 17 June 2010 by the EU authorities.

Since 13 July 2010 the integration of Norfolkline DFDS takes place in the group; the integration process should be completed by the end of 2012. Following the integration of the two companies, the Norfolk Line brand will disappear, the ship lines are then marketed as DFDS Seaways and freight services on land as DFDS Logistics.

In addition to the passenger ferry, which can also be booked for freight transport, Norfolk Line also operates freight-only connections between the UK and Ireland, the Netherlands and Denmark. The company has correspondents across Europe and uses for logistics services, the transport routes of railway, road distance transport and ships.

In 2008, Norfolkline surprised with the news that intention to begin the formerly operated by the Greek shipping company Superfast Ferries ferry service between Zeebrugge and Rosyth the ostschottischen again in spring 2009. Superfast Ferries had this route set for economic reasons before. From the spring of 2009 at Norfolk Line operated the only direct ferry service between Scotland and mainland Europe. The route was discontinued in 2010, however. Now ferries depart daily from Amsterdam to Newcastle upon Tyne in the north of England, near the border with Scotland.

The company currently owns 18 transport ships that are used on nine routes. It has about 2,000 employees in 35 offices in 13 countries.
