Norio Ohga

Norio Oga (Japanese大 贺 典 雄, Norio Oga, born January 29, 1930 in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, † April 23, 2011 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese businessman.

Music

After graduating in 1953 he graduated at the Tōkyō Daigaku Geijutsu, the University of Tokyo arts. Besides, he majored in conducting, composition, harmony and counterpoint. Norio Oga was, inter alia, enrolled at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. In 1955 he went to the University of the Arts Berlin. In 1957, he graduated there. A call of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, he was followed in 1999 as president.

Careers at Sony

Oga competed in 1953 at the former Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo KK, the forerunner of Sony, and became a consultant. In 1959, his stake in Sony as a permanent employee.

He was dissatisfied with the low quality of tape recorders.
