Normal force
Each acting on a surface force can be decomposed into the axial force and the weight force components. Perpendicular to the surface ( say in the direction of the normal vector ) generates the normal force acting tensile or compressive stresses. The acting in the basis weight force generated shear stresses.
In the technical mechanics and continuum mechanics related to a unit area force is referred to as a surface load.
The formula for calculating the normal force results from the cosine of multiplied by the weight of the mass.
