Norman Gale
Norman Rowland Gale ( born March 4, 1862 in Kew / Surrey; † October 7, 1942 ) was an English children's book author, poet and storyteller.
Gales first poetry volumes were published in small private printing, and only with the band Violet he became known to a wider audience. He had greater success with poetry books such as A Country Muse ( 1892), A Coutry Muse: New Collection ( 1893), the Orchard songs that were launched fifteen times in 100 years, and the cricket songs that saw twelve editions. In Germany in 2008 appeared a German -English edition of his Cat Struwwelpeters with the original illustrations by the English cat artist Louis Wain and the German translation by Walter Sauer.
