Norman Kerry

Norman Kerry ( born June 16, 1894 in Rochester, New York; † 12 January 1956 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

He was born as the son of German parents as Arnold Kaiser in Rochester. With the beginning of World War II, he changed his unmistakable German names in Norman Kerry. In 1916 he first appeared on screen in Manhattan Madness, a film directed by Allan Dwan, in a supporting role. A year later he had his first starring role in The Little Princess, a film by Marshall Neilan. His most prominent roles he played under the direction of Erich von Stroheim in fairground of life ( 1923) and The Merry Widow (1925 ). With the introduction of sound Kerry ended career, he played with three sound films before he got no more roles. At the beginning of World War II he enlisted in the Foreign Legion, but returned to the occupation of France in the United States. Norman Kerry died in 1956 in Los Angeles, California from a liver disease, he was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery ( Culver City ) Cemetery in Los Angeles County. Norman Kerry has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6724 Hollywood Blvd.
