Normann Stadler
Normann Stadler ( born February 25, 1973 in Wertheim ) is a former German triathlete and duathlete. He was 2004 and 2006 Ironman Hawaii Champion and thus world champion in the Ironman Triathlon race series over the long-haul - after the Duathlon World Championship for themselves had to decide as early as 1994. In August 2011, he ended his active career. He is in the Hall of Fame German triathletes ( men) out on the Ironman distance.
Career
The age of 14 started Stadler in the national squad of cyclists and 1994, he was then 21 years in Australia Duathlon World Champion.
On October 16, 2004 8:33:01 hours with Stadler winner of the Ironman Hawaii was. After Thomas Hellriegel he was the second German to have managed. Furthermore Stadler won on 10 July 2005 the Ironman in Frankfurt am Main and thus became Triathlon European Championships. Since 2007, Normann Stadler team captain of the Commerzbank Triathlon Team. In July 2011, he underwent surgery on the heart. In August 2011, he declared the end of his professional career. Today, he looks after the Belgian triathlete Marino Vanhoencker.
Normann Stadler lives with his wife and their two sons in Mannheim.
As part of the Sports Person of the Year 2004 in Baden -Baden he commented negatively on the performance of the disabled athlete Wojtek Czyz and Turners Hambüchen: " I have wiped out the butt 17 years, and then comes because of some story of a disabled athlete who makes the last two years, over there purely because he has embraced in Athens the Chancellor ... "; " Hambüchen is a young, nice guy, but he once was seventh at the Olympics. He has also benefited from this tragic accident by Ronny Ziesmer, thereby also came Gymnastics back in the public eye. " Czyz had the seventh and Stadler reached ninth place at the athletes as the fifth, Hambüchen. Stadler saw his supposedly bad placement as a result of disqualification because of doping by Nina Kraft at Ironman Hawaii 2004. Responding total on his club, the MTG Mannheim him suspended. Sporting successes
Stadler won eight individual titles at the German championships in duathlon or triathlon youth and juniors as well as several medals at European and World championships in duathlon and triathlon.
