Origin and History

The Norrbottenspitz is an old dog of farms in Sweden, which was used for hunting squirrels and game birds. He guarded the house and yard, pulling small carts. Today, he himself has become rare in his home. In 1948 he was even believed to be extinct. Through efforts of breeders he experienced a rebirth since 1967.

Description

The standard of Norrbottenspitzes provides a size of 45 inches for males and 42 cm for females. His hair is hard, short, straight and rather tight, with fine and dense undercoat, are in many colors, preferably white tones. The ears are set high, standing stiff and pointing forward, the tail set high, carried in a fairly high arch, loosely rolled.
