Norrøna

Norrøna is an existing since 1929 sporting goods manufacturers from Norway.

History

Jørgen Jørgensen founded 1918, the company Bredesen & Jørgensen Polar in collaboration with Einar Bredesen. The first items were then leather goods and sporting goods. After eleven years, he decided to get out and alone execute new business with Norrøna. In addition to backpacks that came to her, he also focused on products from the mountain sports, such as Tents and sleeping bags. In 1940, his son Bjarne line and expanded over the next 20 years the business on garden furniture and camping accessories. The third generation of the family took over Jørgensen Norrøna 1971 in person by Ole Jørgen. It ensured in cooperation with Tomas Carlstrom, the newly hired product developers for a leading position in sales of mountain sports clothing. 1979 succeeded the company a technological breakthrough by preparing the first Gore- Tex jacket in Europe. Another ten years later they expanded their product line on hunting clothing. In the new millennium Norrøna could draw attention to, inter alia, with special lightweight clothing. Since 2005, the company is run by the fourth generation of Jørgensens.
