Norroy

Norroy is a commune in the Vosges department in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Neufchâteau, for Canton Bulgnéville and in 2000 founded Kommunalverband Bulgnéville entre Xaintois et Bassigny.

Geography

The 156 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) scoring Norroy community located about three kilometers north- west of Vittel in a tributary of the upper Vair. Neighboring communities of Norroy are

  • Saint- Baslemont in the north,
  • Vittel in the east,
  • Contrexévillenear in the southwest and
  • Mandres -sur- Vair in the West.

History

Norroy belonged to a Commandery, which was under the Templar Henri, comte de Vaudémont. The income of the village went to two-thirds of the Duke of Lorraine, one third received the Order of Malta in Robécourt at Mouzon Norroy in 1751 came to the Bailiwick Bourmont. After the creation of the department of Vosges in 1790 Norroy was incorporated into the district and in the Canton of Lamarche Mandres (both were released a few years later ). Ecclesiastically, the village was bound to the Construction of a church in the 19th century to the parish in Mandres -sur- Vair.
