North American Hockey League

The North American Hockey League ( NAHL ) is a Junior Hockey League in the United States, which is organized by the American Hockey Association USA Hockey. The League joined in 2003 with the former America West Hockey League together and initially consisted of 21 teams. The League has a Junior A Tier II Classification and dar. is on a par with the United States Hockey League ( USHL )

The league consists of 24 teams which are divided into four divisions. The regular season consists of 60 games, the winners of each division play after a final round in the mode -for- everyone around the Robertson Cup, the championship of the league.

League and team changes

In the season 2006/ 07 the Bozeman Icedogs, billing Bulls and Helena left the NAHL and were transferred to the Northern Pacific Hockey League ( nPhl ). In the same season the franchise of the Cleveland Junior Barons has been inactive Wassila Spirit changed the team name in Alaska Avanlanche and Missouri plays since then under the name of St. Louis Bandits. The Marquette Rangers were neuaufgenommen in the league.

In the 2007 /08 season, the Santa Fe Roadrunners moved to Topeka to in the state of Kansas and play now as Topeka Roadrunners in Landon Arena. As a new team, the River Brown Bears started in the NAHL.

For the season 2008/ 09 the Southern Minnesota Express moved to Detroit, where they play from now on as the Motor City Machine. In Owatonna, the former home of the Southern Minnesota Express, took a new team named Owatonna Express of the match operation. Due to extensive renovation work on the home of the Texas Tornado paused the franchise in the 2008 /09 season and put the game operation until the 2009/10 season continued.
