North Shropshire

North Shropshire was a District in the county of Shropshire in England. Administrative headquarters was the town of Wem. The District also included the towns of Ellesmere, Market Drayton and Whitchurch.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the District Rural Market Drayton and North Shropshire. On 1 April 2009 the District was dissolved as a result of local government reform, and went on in the new Unitary Authority Shropshire.
