North Siberian (pig)

The northern Siberian pig (Russian Cибиpcкaя ceвepнaя transcribed Sibirskaja Severnaya ) is a multi-purpose breed of pig from Russia.

Breeding history

Under the leadership of Simon MO native kurzohrige Siberian sows were crossed with Large White boars in the Novosibirsk Oblast. 1942, the breed was officially recognized.

Occurrence

Main breeding centers are Ojaschinski, Borowskoje and Krasny Oktjabr in the Krasnoyarsk region. The race is held in the Oblast Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Buryatia region in Russia and Kazakhstan. In 1980, 24,500 purebred animals the number.
