North Wales Mineral Railway

The North Wales Mineral Railway was a British railway company in Denbighshire in Wales.

History

The North Wales Mineral Railway received on 6 August 1844, the concession to build a railway line from Wrexham Rossett on to a wharf on the Dee at Saltney and a transition to the Chester and Holyhead Railway. On July 21, 1845, the Company also won the concession to build a line from Wrexham south to Ruabon. The following year, a concession to build a connecting stretch of Wheatsheaf Junction to Minera ( Brymbo and Minera Branch) has been requested.

The first two concessions equity to 270,000 pounds and the amount of credits to 90,000 pounds has been set. Again were 8000 pounds for the third concession, of which £ 2000 approved a loan.

On July 27, 1846, the Company merged with Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Chester Junction Railway ( Railway Ruabon - Shrewsbury ) for Shrewsbury and Chester Railway. The approved 23.7 km long railway line Ruabon - Saltney was opened on 4 November 1846. The proposal by the North Wales Mineral Railway and licensed under the merger route to Minera was opened in November 1847.
