Northglenn is a city in Adams County and Weld County in the U.S. state of Colorado, United States. Northglenn has 35,789 inhabitants (as of 2010), the surface area of the city is 19.4 km ².

History

In the spring of 1959, the company Perl -Mack Co. had completed his plans to leave north of Denver created a new residential area. Facilities for trade and industry should be built as well as schools and leisure centers to a regional shopping center around. On June 30, 1959 attracted more than 15,000 buyers, the first five model homes. In 1962, the developing settlement already about 10,000 inhabitants in 3,000 households. The central shopping center opened under the name of Northglenn Mall in 1968. On April 18, 1969 Northglenn was officially declared a town.

The important for the initial planning and development of the city shopping center began in the 1990s to expire, after losing more and more customers initially based businesses and in the sequence. It was demolished in 1999; now a new business and gastronomy center has been erected in its place.
