Northwest Passage (TV series)

Northwest Passage is an American Western series that was produced 1958-1959 Metro-Goldwyn -Mayer.

Action

The series is loosely based on the life of the historical figure of the British Major Robert Rogers at the time of the Seven Years ' War in North America 1756-1763. Called the Rogers Rogers' Rangers called light infantry unit to life, which was used for military reconnaissance. One of her jobs was to find the eponymous Northwest Passage, a suspected North American waterway, which connects the Pacific and Atlantic. Rogers is assisted by the Indian trackers Sergeant Hunk Marriner and Ensign Langdon Towne. Besides the search for the Northwest Passage, the Rangers fall again and again into fights with Indians and French.

Background

The television series based on the eponymous movie from 1940, which in turn is based on the novel of the same name by Kenneth Roberts. In the television adaptation Keith Larsen took over the role of Spencer Tracy, Buddy Ebsen played the role of Walter Brennan and Don Burnett presented the role of Robert Young dar. Among the guest stars included, among others, Patrick Macnee, Angie Dickinson, and Pernell Roberts.

Between 1959 and 1961 average MGM three episodes to feature length to, and brought so with Frontier Rangers ( " Daredevil forward " ), Mission of Danger ( " enemy in the back " ) and Fury River ( " The trap on the Snake River" ) three feature films to the cinema.

DVD Release

2008 appeared the entire series in the U.S. on DVD.
