Norton County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Norton.

Geography

The County is located in northwestern Kansas, Nebraska and bordered to the north has an area of ​​2283 square kilometers, of which nine square kilometers of water surface. It borders in Kansas clockwise to the following counties: Phillips County, Graham County, Sheridan County and Decatur County.

History

Norton County was formed on 26 February 1867. It was named after Orloff Norton, an officer in the American Civil War.
