The Norwegian national ice hockey team of men led after the World Cup 2011 in the IIHF World Ranking at No. 9. The team is part of the Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation. The first game took place on 13 February 1937 in London against the Swiss national ice hockey team instead. The game won the Swiss with 12:2. The highest ever wins get the Norwegians on March 4, 1975 in Sofia, here was subject to the Belgian national ice hockey team with 24:0 and on 22 April 2005 in Debrecen, here defeated the Chinese national ice hockey team with 25:1.

The highest defeat ( 16:2 ) they suffered against the national team of Finland on 9 February 1984 in Sarajevo. To prepare for the annual World Championships, the national team participated regularly in tournaments in the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge.
