Norwegian County Road 258

The Gamle Strynefjellsvegen ( German: Old Strynefjellet Road), officially Riksvei 258 ( National Highway 258) is a 27 km long narrow gravel road in Norway, which is released from May to September the traffic. It connects the places Grotli and Videseter on the plateau of Strynefjellet. The highest point of the route is 1139 m.

1881 the construction of the road, it was decided to create a fixed connection between the municipalities Skjåk in the highlands and Stryn along the fjord. 1894 was after twelve years of construction, during the road was chopped in the snow-free summer months, crafted out of solid rock, blasted and milled, the inauguration. Only in 1978 sparked a new, 12 -km-long and year round paved road with three tunnels the Gamle Strynefjellsvegen as the main traffic route from. 1997 Strynefjellsvegen was declared a " National Tourist Route ".

The Gamle Strynefjellsvegen leads directly past one of Norway's most famous summer resorts. From the street there is a chairlift up to the glacier Tystigen, together with several slopes.
