Norwegian national road

A Riksvei (Norwegian: National Highway ) is a main road ( the Empire ) in Norway and roughly comparable to the German road. The Norwegian roads are from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration ( Statens Public Roads Administration ) classified. The classification of roads in Riksveier, Fylkesveier and Bygdeveier was made in 1931.

Since an administrative reform in 2010, over 60 % of the trails are in municipal ownership, ie there are Fylkesveier; there are only 19 Riksveier.
