The parliamentary election in Norway 1936 was the last election before the beginning of the German occupation and was held on 19 October 1936. It was the election to the Storting 43.

During this legislative period, the Storting decided to increase the duration of a legislature for four years.

Election result

The government Nygaardsvold, a minority government of the Social Democratic Workers' Party was confirmed. It received 70 out of 150 seats and thus a mandate for more than three years earlier. The second strongest party was the conservative Høyre, which recorded the largest gains ( 5.9 %, 6 mandates). Biggest losers choice was the Peasant Party, which lost five seats. The Radical People's Party and the conservative Venstre Frisinnede could not move back into parliament.
