The parliamentary election in Norway 1961 was held on 11 September 1961. It was the election of the 48th Storting.

The Labour Party suffered a slight loss of votes that they cost an absolute majority after 16 years. Represented New in the Storting was an offshoot of the Workers' Party, the Sosialistisk Folkeparti. Her two deputies were in the legislature, the " tip the scales ". Høyre won votes; the Kristelig Folkeparti lost votes, but gained additional seats.

Parliament continued its composed of six parties. The NCP was replaced by the Sosialistisk Folkeparti.
