The parliamentary election in Norway 2013 was held on 9 September 2013. The determination of the election date followed the Norwegian tradition whereby national elections take place on a Monday in September.

Electoral system
Were elected the 169 members of the Storting, the Norwegian National Parliament. There were 19 constituencies (county ). All mandates were distributed down to one after the proportion of votes per constituency. The remaining seat served as a compensation mandate. The compensatory mandates establish a nationwide approximately proportional distribution of seats between the parties. Compensatory seats could get only parties, which account for nationwide at least four percent of the vote.

- Kristelig Folkeparti ( Christian Democrat, previously 10 seats)

- Piratpartiet ( Pirate Party )
- Kystpartiet ( conservative)
- Demokratene (right populist )

Starting position
Until the election reigned eight years in a coalition of the Social Democratic Workers' Party ( Ap), the Socialist Left Party and the agrarian Centre Party. Since 2009, this coalition had 86 out of 169 seats.

According to the polls before the election was a success for the bourgeois opposition as quite likely. The election result is then confirmed by the surveys.
