Norwegian Petroleum Museum

The Norwegian Petroleum Museum (Norsk Oljemuseum ) is a museum in the Norwegian city of Stavanger. The focus is on offshore drilling in the North Sea. The architecture is reminiscent of a small drilling platform and is a landmark of the city, especially from the water.

In addition to numerous models of drilling rigs and various equipment the emergence of oil is also explained with the help of a 3D cinema. In another Cinema a dive is shown on a drilling platform.

The museum was opened in May 1999.
