The Norwegian Sports University (NIH, Norwegian Norges idrettshøgskole ) is a public university in Sognsvann district in Oslo, Norway. It is the national university of education and sport -related sciences. It can bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees will be reached at the College.

History

In 1870 the government established a school for gymnastics, athletics and weapons. The name was changed in 1915 state gymnastics school. On 1 June 1968, it received its current name and was given the status of a university. The first master's student was adopted in 1973 and the first doctoral degree was awarded in 1990.
