The Spaulding Pond is a lake on the Yantic at Mohegan Park in Norwich city in Connecticut, USA. On 6 March 1963, the dam broke and caused a tidal wave at the 6 people were killed and property damage of 6 Mio.Dollar arose.

A crack in the earth dam was the cause of the accident, which happened on the night. The tidal wave ( "Great Flood of Norwich " ), which included massive sheets of ice, flooded the business district of the town houses, streets and cars and brought down a mill.
