Noshi

Noshi (Japanese熨斗), sometimes called Tsutsumi or Noshigami, is a ceremonial origami that was radically different from the "Origami - tsuki ". They symbolize the good wishes to someone else and be given away as a rule, with other gifts ( like a greeting card ).

History

In Noshi ceremony flowers, offerings or other gifts were wrapped in paper and brought to the gods in the temples in a way. Were also used very special paper and different techniques for different occasions. The folding techniques and the nature of the characters were mostly passed down orally in families and also considered as secret.

Nature

Noshi is made of white paper, which is folded with a narrow strip of dried meat or abalone, this is seen as a sign of great happiness.
