Action
The unmarried Jean -Claude Delsart works together with his younger brother, Jean -Yves as a bailiff. Jean -Claude's life is shaped by the professional routine. Now and then he watched by his office from the people of the opposite dance school. On weekends, he visits his father in the nursing home. These visits are burdened by the headstrong nature of his father, who harassed the nurses and his son constantly makes claims, although he is the only still has contact with him. When visiting a doctor, Jean -Claude is advised to move to. Jean -Claude would like to play like in his youth, tennis. Of his doctor does not recommend, however, he opts for a tango class at a nearby dance school.
There he gets to know about 20 years younger Françoise Rubion. These attended the course in preparation for her marriage to a high school teacher Thierry. This uses a sabbatical to write a book, but finds no time to Françoise to accompany dancing lessons. Therefore, dances along with Jean-Claude Françoise, both also meet outside of the dance school, where Francoise does not tell him that she wants to get married soon. Jean -Claude begins by acquaintance with Françoise flourish. He talks to his father about his childhood, including the whereabouts of his tennis trophies. His father says Jean- Claude that he has the trophies all thrown away. Françoise come increasingly doubts about her relationship with Thierry, she feels more and more attracted to Jean -Claude.
When Jean -Claude learns of a malevolent dance student of the marriage plan, he responded injured. He no longer attended the dance class. After another dispute in the nursing home, he also cancels the contact with his father. Jean -Claude advises his brother to change his profession because he feels that this would rather work as a gardener.
Some time later, he learns of his father's death, for clearing his room he discovered his tennis trophies. The film ends with the fact that Jean -Claude revisits the dance school and with Françoise dancing a tango.
