Ambulance 7 is a thirteen -part television series filmed in color from 1976, which depicts the contemporary everyday life of a rescue service teams in a big city. The series can be viewed as a precursor to the modern reality TV formats.

Content

The ambulance 7 ( NAW 7) of the professional fire Frankfurt moves - the time of film production or in compact system - from BG Trauma Clinic, Frankfurt am Main ( BGU ) and Others to traffic accidents, domestic accidents as well as suicide attempts, and is assisted by firefighters, police and other charities supported. The rescue teams from NAW 7 about the two Frankfurt emergency physicians Dr. Barbara Kersten and Dr. Günter Brandenberg show in thirteen episodes whose activities in emergency medicine.

Each episode deals with a different facet of ambulance and emergency medicine. Shown is not only the rescue and care of patients, but also getting the history of the emergency. Here, the viewer is always taught with slightly raised index finger of each aspect of accident prevention.

The rescue services measures shown appear from today's perspective, partly questionable, for example, the shock position in a patient with myocardial infarction and back storage of unconscious without endotracheal intubation. However, the supplies of the patients show the former emergency medical standard.

Production

The television series was produced in 1976 on behalf of the Hessischer Rundfunk from the Taunus Film GmbH. Directed by Helmuth Ashley, wrote the screenplay Bruno Hampel, who also for series such as The Old Man, crime scene or respect inches! worked. The music for the series wrote Peter Thomas. The film was shot in and around Frankfurt am Main and isolated in Wiesbaden.

To save production costs and to better reflect the work of the emergency services as authentic as possible, many of the rescue scenes were realistic practice of the professional fire Frankfurt and Wiesbaden. Except for the two protagonists of the task forces were real rescue personnel.

The other performers were known in part drama sizes.
