Nottensdorf

Nottensdorf ( Low German Nottensdörp ) is a member municipality of the velvet municipality Horne castle in Lower Saxony. It lies just off the main road 73 Around the village are fields, meadows, pastures, forests and heather pieces.

History

Nottensdorf was first documented in 1270. The certificate is lost, and therefore the oldest document that contains the place name Notmestorpe of 1303. Nottensdorf was up to the 1960s, a purely farming village.

Due to the devastation in the last days of the Second World War there was a large change in the townscape. While previously prevailed thatched roof houses, then took to the now predominantly existing new buildings. Today Nottensdorf is a town with only a few specialized farms, firms in the construction industry, the catering and hotel industry.

Coat of arms

Blazon: The coat of arms depicts three silver rising red flames. Since 1948, the Nottensdorfer municipality may wear a coat of arms. It was designed by Fritz hatred.

Attractions, infrastructure

1932 grave and memorial to Hans Much was built. On the large boulder the inscription " HANS MUCH 1880-1932 " is to be read. Around the memorial you will find field stones with the names of his Pekinese dogs. Muchs urn was placed under the large boulder.

Structures

From 1969 to 2006 lived in her house in the Bear angle, the writer Barbara Bartos - Hoppner. There is also the seat of the Bartos - Hoppner Foundation.

On Gutspark there is to see old half-timbered houses.

Recreational facilities

The amusement park Nottensdorf is located on an approximately 2 -acre site. A 28- meter high observation tower offers a panoramic view.
