Nouméa Accord
The agreement of Noumea is an agreement between France and New Caledonia, which specifies a transfer of certain powers to New Caledonia. Except for defense, security, justice and financial policy ( currency). A referendum on independence or remain with France will take place 2014-2019.
The agreement was signed on 5 May 1998. In a subsequent referendum in New Caledonia, it was approved with 72 % approval.
