Noumena (Band)

Noumena is a Finnish Melodic Death Metal band from Ähtäri. The name comes from the philosophical term noumenon, which was heavily influenced by Immanuel Kant.

History

Noumena was founded in the spring of 1998. After two demos and several concerts, the band signed a record contract with a Singaporean label. Their debut album was recorded in the same year in the Astia studio, but the label the band went bankrupt before the album's release. 2001 then took the Australian label Catharsis Records, the band signed and released the debut album, already recorded as well as some more songs of 2001 under the name Pride / case in 2002.

In the following years it got a little quiet around the band until it finally in January 2004 Promo CD The Tempter published, which earned them a record deal with Spikefarm Records. The second studio album Absence was studio in October / November of the same year yet included in Sundi Coop and published on 13 April 2005.

After several concerts throughout Europe Coop Studio was the only published through the Internet EP Triumph and Loss and the third studio album Anatomy of Life re-recorded in Sundi.

Style

Music

The musical roots of the band lie in the Swedish death metal and the 80s Heavy Metal. Through this combination and various other influences Noumena plays a very epic and folky variation of Melodic Death Metal. As a guest singer Hanna Leinonen, Tuomas Tuominen and Suvi Uura worked in some songs with.
