Novi di Modena

Novi di Modena is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 10,561 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the Province of Modena in the Emilia- Romagna. The community is located about 27.5 kilometers north of Modena in the Po Valley. Novi di Modena was one of the four municipalities of the Union Terre d' Argine. It is immediately adjacent to the provinces of Mantua ( Lombardy ) and Reggio Emilia.

History

Documented Castrum novum is first mentioned in 979.

Traffic

Near the Autostrada A22 runs. The railway line Rolo Mirandola is closed. Today's train station is named Rolo Rolo -Novi - Fabbrico and lies on the railway line Verona - Mantua - Modena.
