Novi Vinodolski

Novi Vinodolski [ nɔ ː ʋi ʋinɔdɔl.ski ] is a town on the Adriatic coast, near Rijeka and Crikvenica. Because of viticulture around the city Vinodolski got its name ( Vinodol = wine valley ). The 2011 census is according to the population of Novi Vinodolski 5,113 inhabitants.

The town has to have a very rich history. Among other things was Novi Vinodolski seat of the Dukes of Bribir, then a neighboring town of Novi Vinodolski, and the famous Croatian noble family of Frankopans (Hungarian Frangepán ) settled here. A famous document is the Vinodolski zakonik, the law book of Vinodol.

Personalities

The letters and politician Ivan Mažuranić was born in 1814 in Novi Vinodolski. The former Yugoslav and Croatian footballer Davor Šuker owns a villa with jetty in south of Novi Vinodolski.
