Novoozerne

Nowooserne (Ukrainian Новоозерне; Russian Новоозёрное / Nowoosjornoje ) is an urban-type settlement in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in southern Ukraine with 7,200 inhabitants ( 2011).

The place is a garrison with a seaport, naval base and home port of the ship of the Ukrainian Navy is. Northeast of Nowooserne is the first industrial wind power plant in the Ukraine. [Note 1]

History

The settlement was founded in 1971 in connection with the application of a channel from the Black Sea to the Donuzlav Lake since 1977 has the status of an urban-type settlement.

Geography

Nowooserne located in Rajon Saky in the northwest of the Crimean peninsula on the shore of 47 km ² Donuzlav Lake, which is connected via a channel to the Black Sea. Administrative counts Nowooserne for city council community of the city 34 km southeast lying Evpatoria.
