Nowshahr

Nouschahr (also Nowshahr, Noshahr, Noschahr (Persian نوشهر ) ) is a port city in the province Māzandarān on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea, about eight kilometers from Chalus.

Known for its beauty and the humid climate city is a tourist destination and home to several universities and colleges. During the reign of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi the place was considered a " second capital ", as many government officials were staying during the summer months there.

Among the industries located here include the marine, agricultural, food and timber processing industries and the steel industry.

In the city there is a well-known Botanical Garden. It also has its own airport.

The private football club FC Shemushack Noshahr of Nouschahr currently plays in the Azadegan League.
