Nox (Band)

Nox (proper spelling NOX) is a band from Hungary. The band's name comes from Roman mythology, the Nox, the personification of night / darkness, according to the Greek Nyx, represents.

Career and musical style

Since her debut album Örökség Nox advanced to become superstars in Hungary. Örökség reached within the first 3 months gold status in their home country. Their music is a mix of national folk melodies and electronic sounds dar. Very well known and successful Nox but also in neighboring countries such as Hungary, Romania and Slovenia. Nox is actually built around the duo of lead singer Szilvia Péter Szabó Tamás Nagy and the choreographer, but now includes already 14 members. For various projects they get again and again the support of other artists. They range from pop to rock ( music) to folk and dance elements similar to the event of Riverdance include their performances.

Euro Vision Song Contest

The Hungarian broadcasting MTV had received proposals submitted 36 titles, including Forogj világ ( Turn, World ) Nox. A jury then selected 12 titles that on 13 March 2005 at the national qualifying round ( Eurovíziós Dalverseny - Magyarországi Elődöntő ) fought for the ticket to the Euro Vision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev. Nox was able to prevail against the 11 combatants and thus became the official representative of Hungary, the Euro Vision Song Contest in Kiev.

According to survive the preliminary round Nox reached 21 May 2005 finally in the final with 97 points 12th place among 24 participants. With Nox Hungary took part for the first time again since the Euro Vision Song Contest 1998 at the Euro Vision Song Contest.
