Noxolo Kiviet

Noxolo Kiviet ( born July 21, 1963 in East London, South Africa) is a South African politician and, since May 6, 2009 Prime Minister of South Africa's Eastern Cape. She is a member of the National Executive Committee ( NEC) of the African National Congress ( ANC).

Political career

Kiviet began her political career as a union member and rose to 1988 on the union leader. Until the mid- 1990s, they subsequently took a leading positions at various unions and was finally in 1996 Treasurer of the ANC in the Eastern Cape. This function she held until 2003. In the same year she moved to the Office of the Prime Minister of the Eastern Cape, where she chaired the Finance Committee. From 2004 until taking office as Premier of the Eastern Cape Province, she was the spokesperson of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature, the regional parliament of the province. Kiviet was taken in 2009 Mbulelo Sogoni the Prime Minister of the Eastern Cape Province, making it the second woman in this function.

Training

Noxolo Kiviet visited the Wongalethu High School in Mdantsane.

She completed her studies in parallel to their political activities at the University of Fort Hare. There she took her exams in 2006 in Administrative Sciences. The following year she completed her postgraduate studies in the same subject from an honors degree. Currently, she also studied at the University of Fort Hare political science.
