Nozawaonsen, Nagano

Nozawa Onsen (Japanese野 沢 温泉 村, -mura ) is a ski resort in Nagano Prefecture and a well-known ski resort in Japan.

14 inhabitants of the small village have already participated in the Olympic Winter Games.

History

1930 came the ski pioneer Hannes Schneider at the invitation of the Japanese crown prince to Japan in order to explain the Arlberg technique in lectures and seminars. In the same year Schneiders book miracle of the snowshoe was published in Japanese. In Nozawa Onsen followed the practical part, the ski lessons.

In the 1950s, here is the second ski lift was built in Japan.

Onsen

Nozawa Onsen is also very well known for its many hot springs (onsen ). There are more than 30 hot springs and 13 public baths, where you can swim for free. You will be entertained by the people living in nearby residents ( Yunakama ).
