The NRP Gonçalves Zarco ( F476 ) was an Aviso 2nd class ( aviso de 2 ª classe ) of the Portuguese Navy. It was named after the Portuguese navigator João Gonçalves Zarco. Together with her sister ship, the Gonçalo Velho it belonged to Gonçalo Velho class that was geared for use in the overseas provinces of Portugal. Both ships were built in 1933 in the British shipyard Hawthorne Leslie.

After the end of the Japanese occupation of Portuguese Timor during the Second World War, the Gonçalves Zarco and Bartolomeu Dias was the first Portuguese ships that brought the colony help. They arrived one day after the surrender ceremony of the Japanese in the colonial capital Dili on 27 September 1945.

After the Second World War, the Gonçalves Zarco as a frigate was used. In their call sign they received the call F476 and was converted into a submarine hunt.

During the occupation of Portuguese India by the Republic of India was the Gonçalves Zarco with three other frigates and a number of patrol boats in use before Goa, Diu and DaMao. But It only came to the command post between the Afonso de Albuquerque and Indian warships, in which the Portuguese ship was destroyed. The other Portuguese ships did not come into direct contact with the enemy.

1961 Gonçalves Zarco was provided as a warship out of service and used until 1964 as a survey ship (call sign A5200 ).
