NS Class 1200

The 1200 Series of the Dutch Railways (NS ) is a six-axle electric locomotive class from 1951 to 1953. Locomotives were until 1998, when the Nazi in use. Five machines are preserved as museum locomotives. Five other locomotives were sold to the ACTS Nederland BV 1999. Some of them are still in use (as of 2011 ). NS 1211 Botschafterlok in Augsburg Railway Park. Lender is the Railway Museum Utrecht.

The constructed at Baldwin locomotives were manufactured at Werkspoor in Utrecht. Developed at Westinghouse Electrical Engineering was supplied by Heemaf in Hengelo. Of the original 75 locomotives ordered only 25 were delivered.
