NSA Suite B Cryptography

The NSA Suite B Cryptography or shortly Suite B is a set of cryptographic algorithms that was compiled by the NSA in 2005. The algorithms for use in the highly sensitive area Suite A have not yet been published.

In asymmetric methods of elliptic curve cryptography is used.

Algorithms

Suite B includes the following algorithms:

The classification of the security level is based on the strength of the encryption. The requirements relate to the classification in needs of the American authorities, and thus define the certification for businesses.

The NSA is in its technology on 26 software patents.

Certification and Safety Classification

Software manufacturers can sell their products, based on Suite - B algorithms, certify and can be checked for safety. For some applications in highly sensitive data environments (eg government ), a review is required.

For the use of software in the U.S. government, a product must go through a certification process of the Cryptographic Module Verification Program ( CMVP ). In this case, a security check is performed by external laboratories. Certified products can be used without restriction in the U.S. government.
