Nu Boyana Film

The Nu Boyana Film Studios ( Bulg Ню Бояна Филм Стюдиос ) are the largest film studios in Eastern Europe. The Bulgarian public company acts as a production and distribution company, often of international cinema productions. Currently she is a daughter company of Nu Image and Millennium Films.

The predecessor company, the film studio for feature films " Bojana " ( Студия за игрални филми " Бояна " ) was founded in 1962 as a state-owned company. From the beginning, all production processes involved in the game and advertising films, are bundled on a 30 -acre area in the district of Sofia Boyana. Thus, in addition to several studios and outdoor props are available that mimic Manhattan and ancient Rome.

From the mid- 1990s, the government transformed the company into a joint stock company, which, however, remained to be 100 percent owned by the state. It was in 2005 sold to the Californian production company Nu Image. Since February 2007, it bears its present name. Currently about five to eight feature films are produced each year and funded, each with a production budget between 20 and 80 million U.S. dollars. Also, the studios for filming will be provided.
