Nu Shooz

Nu Shooz is a band from Portland, Oregon, USA, to the couple John Smith and Valerie Day, the mid-1980s was an international success with electronic dance music and especially with the hit single I Can not Wait.

History

Valerie Day and her husband John Smith had in the first half of the 1980s already regional successes in Portland and brought in 1982 on the small label Nebula Circle released their debut album Can not Turn It Off out. In 1985, she took on Poolside Records the single I Can not Wait b / w Do not Turn Back, whereupon the major label Atlantic Records took the Nu Shooz formation under contract. Originally from producer team " The Drone Bros. " ( Dick & Don ) produced song I Can not Wait was re-released in a remix of John Smith and Rick Waritz to Atlantic Records and became world singles chart success.

The album shortly thereafter published Poolside could be placed in the USA, the UK and Germany in the Top 40 on the LP charts. The follow-up single it also contained Point of No Return was still a minor success in the international pop charts. 1988 was from the album Told 'U' So decoupled Single Should I Say Yes to No. 41 the last charts listing for Nu Shooz on the Billboard Hot 100 more singles, but like Are You Lookin ' for Somebody Nu were in the American dance charts represented.

Published in 2007 Nu Shooz an unplugged version of their successful title in a jazz -related instrumentation and interpretation.
