Nuckolls County, Nebraska

Nuckolls County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Nelson, named after the land owner C. Nelson Wheeler, on whose land the town was built.

Geography

The County is located in southeastern Nebraska, on the south by the state of Kansas and has an area of 1492 square kilometers, of which 2 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Clay County, Fillmore County, Thayer County and Webster County.

History

Nuckolls County was formed in 1860. It was named after Stephen F. Nuckolls, an early pioneer in this field.
