Nuclear family

The nuclear family consists of a father, a mother and one or more biological children of both. The nuclear family is one in Western societies to the most common forms of life of the family. There are also numerous other family or marriage forms.

Biological Aspects

The nuclear family is the smallest unit of biological reproduction and no longer exists after the death of parents or children.

Psychological aspects

Nuclear family as the system father - mother-child: every person is permanently part of such a system, even if the RELATED not, or no longer live together. It consists of one father, one mother and one to several biological children. Sociological aspects

As a nuclear family or spouse family life and reproductive community of mother, father and child is in sociology (ren). The nuclear family is considered today as the smallest social unit and basis of society in which not only biological reproduction but also an essential part of socialization takes place (social reproduction).

Legal Aspects

Despite similar or identical conditions of life there is a legally significant differences between biological children and adoptive children on the one hand and stepchildren in step-families on the other. A legal definition of the nuclear family does not know the legal system of the Federal Republic of Germany.
