Nuclear Power Corporation of India

The Nuclear Power Corporation of India ( NPCIL ) is a state-owned company in India based in Mumbai. It is responsible for the development, planning and construction of nuclear power plants and the use of nuclear energy for electricity generation. NPCIL is monitored by the Department of Atomic Energy ( DAE) and is the only power company in India which uses nuclear energy sources.

NPCIL was founded in September 1987 as a public limited company ( public limited company ). The share capital of 150 billion rupees.

Currently, six nuclear power plants are operated at three locations, nuclear power plants are under construction.
