Nucleotidyltransferase

Nucleotidyltransferases are enzymes that catalyze the transfer of nucleotides to target structures, such as a growing nucleic acid chain. Typical representatives of this group are DNA polymerases or reverse transcriptases. The nucleotidyltransferases are central and essential to the reproduction of the genome of living organisms and viruses. Some of the enzymes also accept repair tasks.
