Nueva Vizcaya State University

The Nueva Vizcaya State University is located in the province of Nueva Vizcaya in the Philippines. It is regarded as an important educational institution in the administrative region of Cagayan Valley. The University is divided into the campus in Quezon Street in the town of Bayombong and Bambang Campus on Heroes Boulevard. The campus in Bayombong has a size of 148.5 acres and is located in Barangay Magsaysay, near the Bangan Hill. The campus in Bambang has a size of 14.21 acres. 2011 8.256 students enrolled at the university in a second semester

Faculties

The Nueva Vizcaya State University is home to ten different faculties, which are divided into high school and technical college as well as the areas of vocational training. These include Administration, Agriculture, Arts, Design & Architecture, Business, Computer Science & Mathematics, Education, Engineering & Industrial Technology, Medical & Healthcare, Science & Social Science, and Tourism & Hotel Administration.

History

The University's history begins in 1916 as the Rural School Bayombong the forerunner of today's educational institution was opened. The expansion of the school began in 1930 with the opening of the high school area. After the Second World War in 1946, the training areas were split and founded the forerunner of the Nueva Vizcaya State Institute of Technology and the Nueva Vizcaya State Polytechnic College. The campus in Bambang Nueva Vizcaya was opened as Southern Junior High School in 1946. Both had in the following years a rather dynamic development and training programs have been systematically expanded and renamed several times. In 1983, two training institutes merged under a single administration. Was awarded on 20 March 2004 with the entry into force of the Republic Act 9272, the educational institution of university status. Got its name Nueva Vizcaya State University on the 31 May 2005.
