Nugent Iceland is the northernmost island of Kermadecinseln and thus the northernmost area in New Zealand. It is northeast of New Zealand, is approximately circular and has a diameter of about 100 meters. Nugent Iceland belongs to the group of islands around Raoul Iceland.

The rock of the island is about 600,000 to 1.4 million years old; it consists of fine and tilted pillow lava and was built in submarine volcanic eruptions.
