Nukapu

Nukapu is a small atoll in the southeastern province of Temotu the Solomon Islands. It is one of the outer islands of the Reef Islands, north of the archipelago of the Santa Cruz Islands.

The atoll has a total area of ​​over five square kilometers. From northeast to southwest it extends over 3.2 km, with a maximum width of 2.2 km. In the center is a small lagoon that is approximately 70 acres in size. The only island of the atoll, Nukapu Iceland, is located in the northeast. The island has a size of 770 times 650 meters and an area of ​​approximately 30 hectares. The largest part of the atoll is occupied by the Riffplattform.

In the southwest of the island, the 70 hectare small lagoon, is the only village Nipwa, with about 100 inhabitants. On current satellite images around 25 huts and a larger building can be seen.
